Sharmila Sanmugam joins WTS UK as a Partner from Apollo Global Management to develop the firm's international tax practice.
Sharmila brings more than 15 years of experience across in-house and advisory roles, specialising in global tax compliance, tax governance, transfer pricing, indirect taxes and multinational tax transformation.

Monday, 3 August 2026 – London – WTS UK today announces that Sharmila Sanmugam has joined the firm as a Partner and will develop its international tax practice.

Sharmila joins WTS UK from Apollo Global Management, where she spent almost eight years as Director of Tax. She brings extensive experience managing complex cross-border tax matters, overseeing global adviser networks and partnering with senior stakeholders across finance, legal and compliance functions.

Sharmila has held a range of senior in-house and advisory roles throughout her career. Prior to joining Apollo, Sharmila was a Tax Manager at CBRE UK. Earlier in her career, she worked in Deloitte UK’s Financial Services Tax team as an Assistant Manager and completed a secondment as a Tax Adviser at Merrill Lynch.
