1. Who we are and how to contact us

These Terms of Use apply to your use of the website at www.wts.co.uk (Site), which is operated by World Tax Services UK Limited (CRN: 16789955) (WTS UKwe, us, our). We are a limited company registered in England and Wales, and have our registered office at 3rd Floor, 1 Ashley Road, Altrincham, Cheshire WA14 2DT.

If we, our staff or our services are regulated (for example by a professional body), details of our regulatory status are set out on the Site and/or in our client engagement terms. 

2. By using our Site you accept these terms

By using our Site, you confirm that you accept these Terms and that you agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our Site. 

3. There are other terms that may apply to you

The following terms may also apply to your use of our Site:

  • Our Privacy Notice, which explains how we collect, use and store your personal data.
  • Our Cookie Policy, which sets out information about the cookies on our Site.

These Terms relate only to use of the Site. They do not govern the provision of any professional services by us. Any professional services will be subject to separate client engagement terms agreed with you.

4. Access to our Site

We do not guarantee that the Site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. Access is permitted on a temporary basis. We do not guarantee that the Site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.

We may: 

  • update and change our Site from time to time to reflect changes to our services, our team, our news updates and our business priorities;
  • suspend, withdraw, discontinue, or change all or any part of the Site without notice;
  • suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms or there is a security, legal or operational need to do so.

5. We may make changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms any time by amending this page and those changes will be binding on you if you continue to access the Site. We will summarise changes in the change log at the end of these Terms.  Please check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes.

7. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to the Site; and
  • ensuring that all persons who access the Site through your internet connection are aware of these Terms and comply with them.

You may use the Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not use the Site:

  • in any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
  • in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
  • for the purpose of harming or attempting to harm any person in any way; or
  • to gain unauthorised access to our systems or to any other user’s information.

You are responsible for implementing sufficient procedures and virus checks to satisfy your particular security and reliability requirements.

8. Do not rely on information on the Site

The content on our Site is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on our Site.

Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on our Site, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our Site is accurate, complete or up to date.

9. Intellectual property rights

  • The WTS name and brand are registered trade marks. You are not permitted to use them beyond the scope of these terms without our approval.
  • We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our Site, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
  • You may use content from our Site for your personal use and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content posted on our Site.
  • You must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.
  • Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our Site must always be acknowledged.
  • You must not use any part of the content on our Site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.
  • You retain ownership of any rights you may have in your CV and related information that you upload via the Site. By submitting such content, you grant us a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free licence to use, store, and copy that content and to make it available to our personnel and professional advisers for the purposes of managing recruitment and related processes in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

10. Restrictions on using our content

  • You shall not conduct, facilitate, authorise or permit any text or data mining or web scraping in relation to our Site or any services provided via, or in relation to, our Site for any purpose.
  • You shall not use our Site, data contained in our Site or any materials we provide on or through our Site for the purposes of developing, training, fine-tuning or validating any AI system or model.
  • This clause will not apply insofar as (but only to the extent that) we are unable to exclude or limit text or data mining or web scraping activity by contract under the laws which are applicable to us.

11. Submitting your CV via the Site

  • You can submit your CV or similar information to us via the Careers section of our Site if you are interested in a potential role with WTS UK. Your CV and any other information you submit as a candidate for a role working with us will be dealt with in accordance with our Privacy Notice and the privacy notice of any hiring platform that we use to process applications (such notice will be presented to you prior to submission).
  • By submitting your CV you confirm that all information contained in it is accurate, complete and not misleading.
  • Submission of your CV through the Site does not constitute an offer of employment and we are not obliged to review or respond to your application.
  • Our Site does not otherwise facilitate the sharing or posting of content that you have created, nor do we provide a means for you to make contact with other users of our Site.

12. Linking to our Site

  • You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.
  • You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.
  • You must not establish a link to our Site in any website that is not owned by you.
  • Our Site must not be framed on any other Site, nor may you create a link to any part of our Site other than the home page.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

13. We are not responsible for websites we link to

Where our Site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them.

We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.

14. We are not responsible for viruses

We do not guarantee that our Site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for how you choose to access our Site and should use your own virus protection software.

15. You must not introduce viruses

You must not:

  • misuse the Site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, the server on which the Site is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to the Site;
  • attack the Site via a denial‑of‑service attack or a distributed denial‑of‑service attack.

By breaching this provision you may commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We may report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and will co‑operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Site will cease immediately.

16. Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

  • If you become a client of WTS UK we will put in place an engagement letter that will set out the terms and conditions that apply to that work, including any limits or exclusions of liability that will apply.
  • In relation to the use of our Site, we do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we:
  • exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that may apply to our Site or any content on it;
  • will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:
    • use of or inability to use the Site;
    • reliance on any content displayed on the Site;
    • any unsuccessful application for a role at WTS UK.

17. We may transfer this agreement to someone else

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. This will not affect your rights under the contract.

18. You must keep your account details safe

If you choose, or you are provided with a password or information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party. We have the right to disable any security code or password at any time.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms of service, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Site (including non‑contractual disputes or claims).
