Julian Broughton is a Partner in WTS UK's Transaction Tax practice and a Chartered Tax Adviser. He advises both private market investors and corporate clients on the tax aspects of acquisitions, disposals and group restructurings, from tax due diligence through to tax structuring.

His client base spans multiple asset classes, but he has particular experience in the consumer, healthcare and industrials sectors. He has advised on market-leading multi-national transactions valued up to $50 billion. A hands-on Partner, Julian regularly joins clients at the negotiating table and is known for his clear, practical advice, as well as working collaboratively with other advisers.

Prior to joining WTS UK, Julian spent 30 years in tax with the Big Four. After starting his career at KPMG, he joined EY, where he was a Partner for 13 of his 23 years with the firm and led a 60-strong transaction tax team from 2018 to 2025.
