Sharmila Sanmugam-Patel is a Partner in the International Tax team at WTS UK, advising multinational groups on international tax and global compliance. She is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).

Sharmila works with multinational corporations on both advisory and compliance matters, including oversight of global direct and indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Sharmila has more than 15 years' experience leading international tax and global compliance programmes in both advisory and in-house roles. She joined WTS UK from Apollo Global Management, where she spent almost 8 years as Director of Tax and led the international tax function. There, she contributed to OECD Pillar Two implementation, led global tax governance initiatives, delivered tax technology transformation and worked closely with senior finance and legal stakeholders.

Earlier in her career, she was a tax manager at CBRE and an assistant manager in Deloitte's financial services tax team, which included a secondment to Merrill Lynch.
